"Hello, you've reaced the voicemail system for [insert your name here]. If you would like to speak to [insert your name here] in person, please press one now." Then wait for them to press the number one button and talk to them like nothing unusual happened.

You won't believe the number of people who will fall for this prank! People are so used to those annoying automated menu choices when they call companies. They will just have to ask you what the heck that was all about, and then you can let them in on the prank.

That's a great one! We've actually done this to people ... and quite successfully. It's easy and fun. And a step up from the simple prank where you answer the phone like you are a voicemail greeting.
